If you are looking for work or considering a change in careers, you may want to think of expanding your search by attending a California Job Fair. For those who live in Northern California, there are many great companies that attend the Northern California Job Fairs. This will give you the perfect opportunity to meet and interact with those people who can help you get the job you are looking for. Job fairs are events where the major employers in your area come together to meet and recruit possible job applicants, but there are some tricks to making the most of your time when you attend a California Job Fair.
The biggest advantage to attending a California Job fair is that you will have the opportunity to network. This is great if you are a college student looking for an internship, or if you would like to make the contacts necessary to get employment with a great company.
Before you do decide to attend a California Job Fair or one of the many Northern California Job Fairs, ensure that you are prepared. It is often a good idea to pre-register for job fairs; you may also want to research the companies that you know will be attending so you know which ones you will target. Prepare a resume and be ready to answer questions about what your career goal is. Have a clear picture in your mind of where you would like to go with your career.
When attending a California Job Fair, always wear business attire and be prepared to answer questions the same as you would if you were about to go to a job interview. In reality, a job fair is like attending a major job interview. On the day of the job fair, arrive early. By now you should already know which employers you will visit first. While visiting the employers at a California Job Fair always be polite and professional so that you can be sure to make a great first impression. Get the contact information of the employers that you are most interested in. Though it may sound unbelievable, there are many people that make great connections at these job fairs, but forget to get the contact information for the Human Resource People they should speak with about employment.
It is important to always show a positive attitude, and question the employer about what you will have to do next to get a position with the company.
Keep notes of all the contacts and information you gained by attending the California Job Fair. This will be important information for following up on job leads. Following up on the leads you get while attending the job fair is very important. Often recruiters will ask you to contact them at a later time, make sure that you do just that. Though you don’t want to become a pest, you do want to keep your name in front of them. This is always the best way to get a good job. Recruiters are busy, and if you wait around for them to call you, there is only a slim chance you will ever receive that call. The recruiter is far more likely to pick up the phone and dial the number of that job searcher that he remembers from the California Job Fair because that person has followed up and reminded the recruiter that he exists and is qualified for the job.
There are many Southern California Job fairs but there are also some great Northern California Job Fairs as well, including the San Francisco, and Sacramento Diversity Hire Events, as well as the Sacramento Medical Annex. Getting a great job is made even easier when you attend a California Job Fair.
